A man stabbed four people Friday night in Sunset Park, killing one person and hospitalizing two others, officials said. 

At 9:30 p.m., police were called to the corner of 57th Street and 7th Avenue following a report of an assault.

Officers arrived to discover three men who had been stabbed lying on the ground and called medics to the scene. 

EMTs responded and transported the men to an area hospital where one of the men was pronounced deceased. Two other two men were last reported to be in stable condition. 

Police discovered a fourth victim who was injured in the stabbing, but not severely. EMTs treated him for his injuries at the scene. 

According to a spokesperson for the NYPD, the motive of the stabbing appears to have been a robbery. 

Homicide detectives are involved in an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been reported.

Officers are looking for a white Mercedes vehicle with New York plates last seen headed southbound from the scene.

The last four digits of the suspect vehicle are "9539."

Two of the victims have suffered injuries that are not considered life-threatening. The third victim's injuries are considered life-threatening.

Officers have requested additional units to the scene to help control the gathering crowd.

An additional ambulance has been requested.

The suspect drove off in a white 2018 Mercedes with a New York license plate of JLH9539, according to police.

One of the victims died, police report. The incident was a robbery, according to police.

According to an update from the NYPD, there were four victims total at the scene. One man was declared deceased at the hospital, two men were transported to a hospital and remain in stable condition, and a fourth man was treated at the scene for a puncture wound to the body.
