A man was killed in a shooting at Forest Park, police say.

According to officials, at around 12:45 a.m. Friday police responded to the corner of Woodhaven Boulevard & Myrtle Avenue for a report of a shooting. 

Officers arriving at the scene identified a 25-year-old man in a crashed silver car that had been shot in the chest.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. 

Police say that a suspect in a black sedan pulled up alongside the victims car and shot him. 

The victims car the moved forward and crashed into a pole.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. 



Fatal Shooting Near Forest Park

Police and EMS are responding to an unconfirmed report of gunfire from a vehicle striking a person.

Incident reported at Woodhaven Blvd & Myrtle Ave.

Police on scene confirm a man with a gunshot wound has been located.

Police have requested additional officers to assist at the scene.

Police are searching for a black Infiniti sedan driven by an armed suspect southbound on Woodhaven Blvd from Myrtle Ave.

Police state the man was shot in the chest.

According to an update from NYPD, the man was pronounced deceased upon arriving at a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing while police continue to search for the suspect.

The NYPD's Emergency Service Unit (ESU) is en route to the scene to conduct a daylight evidence search.
