A man was fatally stabbed, and two others, including a child, were injured during a dispute in Brooklyn on Sunday evening, police said.

NYPD officers responded to a report of an assault inside of an apartment at 300 Putnam Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant around 6:20 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a 79-year-old man with a stab wound in his abdomen.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, police said.

A 49-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl were both slashed. They were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

According to the police, a 22-year-old man was taken into custody at the location.

It is unclear if the victims were related or if they knew their attacker.

The circumstances leading to the stabbing remain under investigation.
