A woman has been charged after she drove her car into a group of protesters in Murray Hill Friday afternoon, police say.

According to officials, at around 4:08 p.m. police responded to a report of multiple pedestrians struck at the intersection of E 39th Street & 3rd Avenue. 

Police say that 52-year-old Kathleen Casillo struck six pedestrians who were demonstrating in the roadway in solidarity with a group of detainees at an ICE facility in Bergen County, NJ.

The victims were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Casillo remained on scene and was charged with reckless endangerment. 

A 32-year-old protester was also arrested at the scene for interfering with EMS rendering aid. She has been charged with obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct.

Firefighters report they have identified five victims.

One victim has been transported to a local hospital. The other four are being treated by first responders.

One person has suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries, while four people have suffered injuries described as minor.

The remaining victims are in the process of being taken to local hospitals.

Firefighters report EMS is transporting six patients to local hospitals.
