A passenger in a taxi was killed in an early Sunday morning shooting in Elmhurst, police say.

According to officials, at around 1:23 a.m. two suspects riding on a moped pulled up alongside the victim, a 27-year-old man's taxi at a red light near 81st St & Broadway.

Police say that the passenger on the moped shot several times at the cab, striking the passenger in the chest. 

The cab driver was not injured. 

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing. 




Man Killed in Drive-By Shooting on Broadway

Police are responding to a report of a person who may be in need of assistance.

Incident reported at Roosevelt Ave & Baxter Ave.

Police believe a man was injured at Broadway & Briggs.

The address reported for this incident has changed to Britton Ave & Broadway.

The victim's injuries are not considered life-threatening. Police are establishing a crime scene and collecting evidence in the area.

According to an update from police, the man was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The victim was riding in a cab when two men on a moped pulled up beside the cab and opened fire. No arrests have been men and police are continuing to investigate.
