A 17-year-old boy was killed in a double shooting that injured another teen in Flatbush Wednesday afternoon, police say.

According to officials, police responded to a report of two people shot at around 2:33 p.m. outside of 436 E 26th St. 

Officers arriving at the scene identified a 17-year-old boy, later identified as Derek Tiucios who was shot in the chest. 

He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second victim, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the hand. 

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

"Today, tragedy struck. Two teenage New Yorkers were shot. One of them has not made it and we are praying for the other," the Mayor tweeted. "Gun violence will never go unchecked. An investigation is underway to deliver justice for these grieving families."

The investigation is ongoing and there have been no arrests.

Police and medics are responding to multiple reports of a double shooting.

Police are requesting an ambulance to be rushed to the scene.

Police confirm two people were shot, and are requesting a second ambulance to the scene. They have not yet reported on the extent of the victims' injuries.

Police advise that a detailed suspect description is not available at this time.

Police advise one patient is critically injured. The second patient's condition is not clear.

Police advise the second victim suffered an injury to the hand.
