A man was shot in the neck in Manhattan on Sunday evening. The NYPD said they believe the shooting occurred inside the 14th Street - 7th Avenue subway station.

Officers found the 24-year-old victim walking into the nearby Lenox Health medical center around 6 p.m., following an earlier report of gunfire at 7th Avenue and West 14th Street.

According to an NYPD spokesperson, the victim said he was shot in transit. 

The apparent location of the shooting was at the 14th Street - 7th Avenue Subway Station, but the incident remains under investigation.

User footage showed the station cordoned off by crime scene tape.
