A suspect allegedly stole a taxi cab on Sunday morning and crashed it later in the afternoon on the Upper East Side, according to news reports citing police sources.

Reports from CBS New York and the NY Patch say the taxi was taken from the Upper West Side on Sunday, possibly around 10 a.m.

Police reportedly saw the rogue vehicle going through a red light in East Harlem after 4 p.m. and attempted to pull it over, but the taxi did not yield.

Just before 5 p.m., a vehicle collision was reported at E 88th Street and Lexington Ave. Officers arrived at the scene and secured the taxi.

Multiple Citizen users showed the crashed cab sitting in the road, along with civilians and law enforcement gathering at the scene.

According to a report from ABC7, no pedestrians were struck during the incident.

No arrests have been reported. The investigation is ongoing.
