Hundreds gathered in the streets of Borough Park for the second night of protests against new COVID-19 restrictions put in place by the city and state to curb rising positive test rates in neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens.

Police confirmed that one person, a 39-year-old man was assaulted by a group at the protest. 

He was treated on the scene by EMS and suffered minor injuries.

There were no arrests reported at Wednesday's protest. 

Borough Park is one of several neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens experiencing a significant uptick in COVID-19 positivity. Restrictions on schools, businesses, places of worship and more have been put in place in these neighborhoods in an effort to prevent the city's positivity rate from rising any higher.
