Firefighters rescued two window washers who were left dangling hundreds of feet above the ground after their scaffolding partially collapsed in Lower Manhattan Monday morning. No one was injured, according to the latest reports from the FDNY.

The dramatic incident unfolded at 250 Vesey Street, formerly Four World Financial Center, which forms part of the Brookfield Place complex in the Financial District.

At approximately 9:10 a.m., firefighters responded to reports of two workers hanging from scaffolding outside the 36-story building. Upon arrival, they found an off-level hanging scaffold with two workers attached.

Deputy Assistant Chief Michael Ajello said the operation concluded in 40 minutes. He said that glass-cutting equipment was used to remove the window panels and bring the workers inside. The workers were evaluated by EMS personnel and refused further medical attention, according to Ajello.

Footage from Citizen users on the ground and in nearby high-rises showed the platform turned sideways at the 30th floor and firefighters working on a landing several floors above.

As of late Friday morning, FDNY units were remaining for what they described as a still developing incident. It was not immediately clear how the scaffolding collapsed.

According to New York City's Office of Emergency Management (OEM), FDNY resources are operating at the above location for two window washers who are stuck on a motorized scaffold on the 30th floor of a 34 story commercial building.

Firefighters on the scene report nobody has been injured.

Both window washers have been removed from the scaffolding and are safely inside the building.
