One firefighter and one corrections officer were injured when a fire broke out at Manhattan Detention Center on Friday night, FDNY officials say. 

According to FDNY sources, the fire broke out at around 8:30 Friday night on the 9th floor. 

84 firefighters responded and were able to place the fire under control in just over an hour. 

One firefighter and one corrections officer were injured. They were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
