Woman Fatally Struck by Cement Truck

Incident reported at 49th St & New Utrecht Ave.

Specialized units have been requested to assist with a vehicle collision in which a man may be trapped.

Police have advised that the victim's injuries were fatal.

At approximately 11:48 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck at the intersection of New Utrecht Avenue & 49th St. Citizen user footage captured the extensive EMS response at the scene shortly thereafter. Although police initially reported that a man was trapped in an unspecified type of vehicle collision, an updated statement from the NYPD indicates a 68-year-old woman was struck by a cement mixer truck and pronounced deceased at the site of the collision. The truck driver remained at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
