Police Investigating Body Found Rolled in Carpet

Police are investigating a suspicious death. The NYPD's Emergency Service Unit (ESU) will assist.

Additional NYPD units are en route to help secure the scene.

An update from the NYPD states the body was rolled up in a carpet.

The NYPD is establishing an additional crime scene at 304 W 147th Street.

According to a news report from ABC, the deceased man, presumed to be in his 20s or 30s, was fully clothed when he was found in the carpet outside a Starbucks. A medical examiner is still working to determine the cause of death, but the man appeared to have head wounds. The NYPD also located a red shopping cart nearby, which they believe was used to transport the body to the location where it was left.
