Peace March in Brownsville After Fatal Weekend Shooting

Incident reported at Brownsville Playground.

Police are on scene where three people have been shot.

Police believe that there are four victims.

The address reported for this incident has changed to 96 New Lots Ave.

Three have been shot in the park and one at Christopher Ave & Hegeman Ave.

A police helicopter unit has been requested to the scene.

EMS will have to walk to the victims inside of the park.

Police now confirm that three men and two women have been shot.

Police believe the woman's head injury is not likely to be life-threatening.

Police have requested additional units to the scene.

One man was grazed in the wrist, and another was shot in the ankle.

The victims are being transported to area hospitals.

Police have discovered another man with a gunshot to the ankle.

Specialized units are on scene aiding in the investigation.

Units have been requested to control crowds around the park and on Hegeman Ave.

A Level 1 Mobilization has been activated, requesting additional units to the scene to aid in the investigation.

Personnel from the Deputy Commissioner of Public Information (DCPI) report that the number of wounded people may be between six and eleven but possibly more.

The shooting occurred during a community event, according to a tweet from Mayor Bill de Blasio.

Police have confirmed that one person has died as a result of the gunfire and that an additional 11 were injured at the scene.

The Level 1 Mobilization has been terminated.

A new report from police states one man succumbed to his injuries and a second man is in critical condition after the shooting. In total, 12 people were shot.
