Timeline

The LAPD deployed tear gas into the crowd, according to ABC 7.

The LAPD states everyone in the area of Alameda between Temple and Aliso/Commercial must leave the area or be subjected to arrest per 409 PC. People can leave southbound on Alameda from Temple or eastbound on Commercial from Alameda.

Traffic is shut down in the area, per police.

According to the LAPD Central Division on X, the demonstration moved from City Hall through Downtown LA and near the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building, where authorities declared the incident an unlawful assembly. After a dispersal order was issued, protesters in the crowd began throwing bottles alongside industrial-sized, commercial-grade fireworks at the LAPD skirmish line.

Protesters are demonstrating in the same place where they clashed with federal agents yesterday. Yesterday's protest ended in multiple fires breaking out, arrests and tear gas deployed.

A Citizen user's video shows a large crowd gathered outside Los Angeles City Hall for an anti-ICE protest. Traffic and pedestrian congestion are possible in the area. Go LIVE to share updates if you are nearby.

Where was your protest when the democrats TOLD YOU who your presidential candidate was, even though you weren’t involved in the supposed primary election?

sarahtonin96Feb 1 at 10:01 AM

@GottaKeepTheFaith we just didn’t want Trump. There was nothing we could do in that situation. We had 60 days to prevent Trump from taking office.

If all of us would only follow the laws of this land we wouldn't be having these problems. From my understanding on the laws of this country is that all are welcome but go about it getting your documents straight because im sure other countries would NOT tolerate all of us pushing ourselves through feeling entitled to their standards. Very simple you want to drive a vehicle in any state its a privilege NOT a right. 🇺🇸

@losangelesUser1657352023 YES! Follow all the laws of the land! Too bad we don’t have that happening at the top!

Where's all the protest when the governor shut everything down, while he was dining at a French restaurant? Where's all the protests for the $23 billion unaccounted to supposedly combat homelessness? How about the protests for cutting the budget in fire prevention and water conservation ?

Ora_raza_chismosaFeb 1 at 10:22 AM

@gragui doesn’t fit their agenda
